Afflalo to turn up the aggression

Arron Afflalo displayed the same poise he shows on the court dealing with the media. On Tuesday with a host of local media asking questions he delivered his answers as smoothly as he is after hitting a big shot. Afflalo also displayed his leadership skills and left no doubt why he is one of the team leaders. Enjoy…

What are you going to miss with Josh Shipp being out against USC?

Afflalo: "Josh is very good. He's a creator. Especially against the zones. He's the one guy who is willing to get in there and make plays for us."

Seeing how well USC has been playing how much of a challenge has it become more without Josh in this game?

Afflalo: "USC had a great weekend up in Oregon and they beat the team that just beat us. But even more so, USC just has confidence players.

"I mean Nick Young, Gabe Pruitt, Lodrick Stewart, Taj Gibson; all those guys, they aren't scared of nothing. It's going to be a very tough game."

Josh used to help you with the scoring load a little bit. Do you feel you will have to shoulder more of the scoring burden over the next couple of games that he's out?

Afflalo: "I was kind of disappointed in my first half of my last game (Oregon). My passiveness just standing out there just shooting against zones and couple of flat shots.

"Regardless if Josh was there or not I think you are going to see my aggression pick up a whole lot. Not for the good of myself but for the good of this team.

"I think when I don't have an aggressive mentality, sometime when I'm not scoring it may effect what I do in other areas that I do for the team and that's not a good thing so I need to be aggressive all the time whether it is scoring or helping the defense, or helping rebounding you can do a lot of things for this team."
