McCullough trips to Capstone

Athens defensive tackle Alfred McCullough enjoyed a strong senior season while leading the Golden Eagles to the 5A state championship. McCullough, 6-foot-3, 290-pounds, was a summer commitment for Alabama after choosing the Tide over offers from Clemson, Ole Miss and South Carolina among others. This weekend he was in Tuscaloosa for his official visit.

"The visit went good. I arrived with my mom on Friday and met with the coaches right away. Coach Saban was a cool dude and good coach. He was relaxed but told me what to expect and he wanted to make sure I had a good time," McCullough said. "We got to eat a lot of food this weekend. Alabama knows how to feed you. It was cool having dinner with the coaches and other recruits. We all just had a good time and got to know each other. We weren't focused on recruiting or anything else, just hanging out."
