Nothing to lose against UNC
Now that Arizona has gotten back on track with a win over Arizona State, the Wildcats must turn to their game against North Carolina. It is no secret that the Tar Heels are among the best teams in the country, if not the absolute best.
The game Saturday can be looked at in one of two ways. It can be looked at as a game that is simply one between two good teams that fans are excited to see. On the other hand, it could be looked at as a game that has major implications for Arizona.
A win over North Carolina would certainly get rid of most doubts about the future of this team.
UNC is a very good team and there really is not much more of a statement than beating the Tar Heels. However, Arizona would not be hurt at all if it lost to North Carolina. In fact, Arizona goes into the game as an underdog and, besides UA fans, not many expect the Wildcats to come out with a win.
This Saturday is not necessarily about whether or not the Wildcats win or lose as much as it is about how the team plays. If Arizona wins and plays sloppy, there are going to be people with mixed thoughts. Sure, Arizona would have beaten one of the top teams in the country, but it really would not answer many of the questions surrounding the squad.
If Arizona loses and plays well, the UA can take it all in stride. The Wildcats could walk off of the court with their heads up knowing that they played well but just happened to come up on the losing end.
