Saban lands second commitment of day
It hasn't taken long for the Alabama coaching staff to reap the benefits of a whirlwind recruiting weekend as the Tide received their second committment of the day when Vestavia Hills tight end Chris Underwood gave his verbal to Alabama coach Nick Saban before he left town.
"Coach Saban offered me a scholarhip before I left today, and I committed on the spot," said Underwood. "Coach Steele had been recruiting me and the old staff had never shown me any attention, but I grew up an Alabama fan. Coach Saban told me to be ready to come in next year and play. He said they want me as an athletic tight end who can block and catch and run. They had told me they were impressed with the film they saw and were surprised that I didn't have more offers.
