UA vs. WSU: Keys to a victory

Although this may be the second time that Arizona has taken on Washington State, the keys to the game remain similar. With that being said, some of the emphasis has been switched from defense to offense.

  • Earlier in the season the focus for UA was on defense. While it is obviously important for the Wildcats to defend, Arizona's chances are going to be slim unless the team turns it around on the offensive end.

The Cats have gone away from what made them successful in the earlier part of the season and in order to go back to that success, the UA needs to go back to what made it so successful.

Arizona needs to take good shots because it will not get many with the way that the Cougars attack the fast break. The half court offense will be very important and if Arizona is going to beat Washington State, the offense needs to be efficient.

  • Arizona must get Jordan Hill involved early and often. Hill is a factor that simply was not present the first time the Cougars and Cats took the court.

Besides being a player that can get the crowd involved with explosive dunks, Hill is a guy that can really open up things for UA's shooters. The more Hill touches the ball, the more Washington State will have to respect him.
