Oklahoma athlete picks Kansas

Going into the 2006 season, Muskogee was rated as one of the top teams in the state. A lot of that was the fact Rell Lewis was returning as the quarterback.

He caught the attention of college recruiters after throwing for more than 1400 yards and rushing for over 1200 yards as a junior. Then an MCL injury sidelined him for four games this season. He returned to the line-up but wasn't close to 100 per cent.

But that didn't keep Kansas from staying on the all-purpose athlete. This past weekend the three-star prospect returned from his visit to Lawrence.

On Sunday morning Lewis met with Kansas head coach Mark Mangino and committed to the Jayhawks.
