Harris humbles Huskies
For the second time in the last two weeks, freshman Paul Harris stepped up and had a huge performance against the Connecticut Huskies. But this time, Harris got some help as the Orange defeated Connecticut 73-63 in the Dome on Saturday afternoon.
Harris scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Orange get their eighth Big East win of the season and third conference win in a row.
Harris got off to a quick start, scoring 11 first half points to put the Orange out to a 35-32 halftime lead. While he only scored 5 points in the second half, he attacked the boards - grabbing six second half rebounds - to help secure the Orange win.
The double-double was Harris' second against the Huskies this season. He scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Gampel pavilion on Feb. 5 in a 67-60 Orange loss.
"Paul did a tremendous job rebounding," Head Coach Jim Boeheim said after the win. "He went after the ball hard and finished around the basket."
"We did a great job on the boards, that's really what helped us out," Harris said. "We just went out there and fought."
