Jim Farmer's Weekly Dish

It's been an eventful week in Crimson Tide basketball but before we dive into where the team is now, let's take a look at everything that's happened since my last column.

First, there's the disappointingly close loss to the then-No. 1 Florida Gators. Mark Gottfried's comments following the Ole Miss game about playing hard or riding the bench clearly had an impact on his team. The Tide came out the gate playing about as well as they have all season.

They did what they do best which is use their athletes to run the floor and then pound the ball inside to Richard Hendrix. They started out 6-of-8 from the field and even the shots they missed often ended up as putbacks. Though Florida wasn't playing their best basketball, Alabama did a superb job of taking advantage of the situation early on and building an impressive halftime lead.
