Kamp and Mountain View aim for third crown

Cal basketball fans are going to see a lot of talent, and a lot of youth in next year's Golden Bears. Nine of the thirteen players on scholarship will be underclassmen. One of the two scheduled newcomers is Mesa (Ariz.) Mountain View high school forward Harper Kamp, a 6-foot-7, 250-pound former state Player of the Year.

Coming off an impressive, career-high 41 point playoff performance against crosstown rival Dobson high school, Kamp has the Toros positioned once again to win the Arizona 5A Division 1 state championship. Mountain View is already the two-time defending champions, and now hold the No. 2 seed in the Final 16 playoff bracket. During Kamp's marvelous varsity prep career, the Toros are an incredible 76-6 when he's been on the floor.
