Big 12 title shot on the line for A&M, Texas

This is what a rivalry is all about. When No. 6 Texas A&M travels to No. 15 Texas tonight at 8 p.m. both teams will have a shot at a Big 12 regular season championship when they take the floor at the Frank Erwin Center.

A&M (22-4, 12-2 Big 12) beat Texas (21-7, 11-3) in College Station earlier in the season, 100-82, in the second game of a 48-hour period that pushed A&M into the national spotlight after beating Kansas on the road and then taking care of the Longhorns Texas has a similar task ahead of them with A&M and a road trip to Kansas to finisht he regular season.

Unlike last time Texas seems to be a lock for the NCAA tournament. The loss in College Station hurt them, but since then the Longhorns have been on a run that has seen their group of freshmen actually get better instead of falter as most freshmen do towards the end of their first collegiate season.

A lot will be on the line tonight in front of a national audience on ESPN2.
