Tigers start spring with questions at D-end

Each day from now until March 13th, will preview a different aspect of spring football 2007 for the Tigers. We begin with our in-depth preview of each position. Today, we look at defensive line, where there has been plenty of turnover.

The Starters: Lorenzo Williams and Evander Hood return as starters at defensive tackle. If healthy, Hood could be one of the best in the league this season. Mizzou replaces both starters on the outside this season. Stryker Sulak and Tommy Chavis will open the spring as the leading candidates to replace Brian Smith and Xzavie Jackson.

The Backups: Inside, look for Jaron Baston and Charles Gaines probably start the spring as second-stringers. Outside, look for Tarell Corby and John Stull to get the nod. But frankly, it will be a shock if there is not some shakeup here.
