Simply The Best

The Bruins scored just two points over a seven minute stretch in the second half but were able to hold off Washington State, 53-45, thanks in large part to their best defensive effort of the season and the outstanding play of sophomore point guard, Darren Collison.

The victory gives UCLA a second consecutive outright Pac-10 title and a three game lead in what many have opined is the best conference in college basketball this season.

The performance in Pullman on Thursday evening also sealed up a No. 1 seed in the West Region for the NCAA tournament, and sent a message to the rest of the country that the Bruins may just be the team to beat in college basketball this year.
