Arron Afflalo named Pac 10 POY

Hard work and penchant for playing both ends of the court with equal intensity saw Bruin guard Arron Afflalo earn Pac 10 Player of the Year. This is the first-time a Bruin has won this honor since Ed O'Bannon did in 1995, 12 long years ago. Afflalo had a teleconference with the media to discuss his honor early today.

Arron can you tell us what the award means to you and when did you find out?

Afflalo: "It means a lot to me to be one of the select few in UCLA history to be honored with this award. I found out this morning from my coaches.

"I respect all the other players. There were many other people who were deserving including Aaron Brooks and Nick Young and a few others.
