Getting to know Simi Fili

As part of our continuing post-signing day coverage, Duck Sports Authority is contacting all of Oregon's class of 2007 signees in order to get to know them better. This is a series that will continue for the next few weeks. In this episode we talk with Salt Lake City (Utah) Cottonwood defensive tackle Simi Fili.

Recent statistics: For his senior season, Simi Fili earned first team all-Region honors while recording 30 total tackles, with 18 solo and 12 for loss. He was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Fili also had four quarterback sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery which almost went for a touchdown.

"I had one fumble recovery for 53 yards where I got pushed out of bounds like Haloti (Ngata) did, on the five yard line," said Fili. "I saw the pylon and then 'BOOM'."
