Tucker excited about latest honor

MADISON, Wis. - After Tuesday's practice - and after putting in some extra time shooting - University of Wisconsin senior forward Alando Tucker met with a large audience of local media to discuss being named Big Ten Player of the Year, the upcoming Big Ten Tournament and more. Here is what Tucker had to say about being named the conference's top player.

On being named Big Ten Player of the Year…

"It's a great accomplishment for myself and my teammates. It's an honor for them also. It's big. Anytime you can bring home an award like that it's good for the program."

On Big Ten POY honor being a personal goal heading into the season…

"I like to set personal goals and I like to set them high. That was definitely on the top of my list as well as getting my team as many victories as I can."

On being an honor that doesn't happen very often and that making it more special…

"Yeah. We've been setting records all year so that just adds to our legacy here as a team and also my legacy as a person here."
