Player Spotlight: Derrick Hill
The adjustment period is over for Cal defensive tackle Derrick Hill. The former high school All-American, Hill suffered through a grueling knee injury that required months of recovery time, which in his own words hindered his development on the field. Now starting his second run through the program, "Big D" is ready to make an impact.
Q: How is your knee feeling?
DHill: Oh it's straight now. I'm just looking to continue what I started to build on last year. Just come back stronger, faster, quicker, everything. The first year opened my eyes, the injury helped me get ready mentally for the future.
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment you've had to make since becoming a D-1 athlete?
