Sideline Video: Tyson is tough to stop

The University of Georgia recently landed a huge commitment and it came from DeAngelo Tyson. Tyson is a defensive tackle out of Statesboro (Ga.) and he is a member of the Rivals.com Junior All-American team. He has great strength, he is explosive, and he simply makes plays. UGASports.com traveled down to see Tyson play last fall and he did not disappoint.

Prospect: DeAngelo Tyson

High School: Statesboro (Statesboro, Ga.)

Class: 2008

Position: Defensive Tackle

Vitals: 6-2, 291-pounds

Offers: Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, South Carolina, and others.

Favorites: Committed to Georgia

The Skinny: Tyson is explosive off the ball. He is a very quick and agile defensive tackle. He plays with his pads low and really uses his hands well. He has very good strength as well and that helps him dominate the line of scrimmage. He can play the run, rush the quarterback, and he chases the ball at all times. Look for him to be one of the top rated interior defensive linemen on Rivals.com.

Tyson sprained his MCL early in the season and missed a few games during his junior season. He was never back to one-hundred percent, but gave it all he had late in the year. He was playing at about seventy-percent when we filmed this game, but he still made some amazing plays from his defensive tackle position.
