With just four practices remaining before the annual Orange & White Spring Game on April 14, coach Mike Gundy and his team still have much work to do before packing it up for the summer.
Monday's practice was devoted to correcting mistakes made in Friday's 140-play scrimmage, which was marked by miscues on both sides of the ball.
"Defensively, they gave up too many big plays," Gundy said. "Offensively, we had some procedure penalties and things. That's due to lack of concentration. We need to get better at that."
Gundy said turnovers continue to be one of the staff's largest concerns this spring. After finishing 34th in the country in turnover margin this past season, Gundy said the team's ultimate success will depend on how well it can protect the ball.
"Offensively, we went from whatever we were to seventh in the country, partly because we didn't turn the ball over," Gundy said. "It's real simple. Our coaches stressed it hard today in meetings and they're stressing it hard with the players."
