Harbaugh excited to get going

Spring football starts Wednesday for Stanford and it will mark the beginning of the Jim Harbaugh era. The Cardinal coach has plenty to prove and even more work to do to get the Stanford football program back in a respectable place.

He's excited to start moving the team in the right direction but knows how much work is ahead of him.

"This will be the toughest spring ball in the history of spring ball," Harbaugh said. "Our team knows that going in. That's not by chance, that's by choice. We have a lot of ground to make up."

After coming off of a 1-11 season, Stanford fired previous head coach Walt Harris, a coach that wasn't known as someone who gets along real well with the players.

An attitude adjustment is necessary, but it hasn't been that difficult for Harbaugh.
