Murray gives Sooners a new weapon
When Demarco Murray was being recruited out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, recruiting fans and analysts had their own take on the potential of the all-purpose running back.
Comparisons to Reggie Bush were commonplace as fans saw Murray as a do-everything player who could take the ball and make things happen from anywhere on the field.
After three major scrimmages this spring, expectations for Murray are as high as ever. The freshman has been nothing short of sensational averaging 11.3 yards per carry in major scrimmages.
That's 11.3 yards per carry folks! Murray picked up 327 yards on 29 carries over the Sooners' three major scrimmages.
But maybe the most surprising thing about Murray is that even though he's versatile, he's a hard-nosed running back at heart. Murray has been just as impressive between the tackles as he has in space.
