D'aundre Reed making progress

There have been a number of players who have impressed coaches during spring practices and one of the names getting the most attention is redshirt freshman D'aundre Reed.

Reed has a ton of potential despite being a bit undersized at the defensive end position and the Wildcats coaching staff has been very high on him since his arrival on campus in 2006.

He should have every chance to see the field this season.

"It all depends on how good I do, but I think I have a good opportunity," Reed said. "Coach (Mike Stoops) was telling me I will have playing time, but I just have to make sure I know everything."

When he first arrived on campus, Reed checked in at 205 pounds, a weight considered about right for a defensive back. However, Reed showed the ability to break through the offensive line and attack the passer in high school, giving the coaching staff confidence in his abilities despite his size.
