Bass eager to get to Iowa State

It was all J.J. Bass could do to not grab a helmet and run out onto the field. But the four-star junior college running back - ranked by Rivals.com as the no. 15 JUCO prospect in the nation - managed to resist the urge to check himself into Iowa State's spring game and is now back at El Camino College in California, finishing up his associate's degree work and very much looking forward to his next trip to ISU.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Bass, the second-best junior college RB in the country according to Rivals, said he really wanted to play as Iowa State wrapped up spring football for 2007 in front of close to 10,000 fans at Jack Trice Stadium.
