Irish waste no time visiting Blanton

For some prospects, the spring evaluation period provides a chance to impress college coaches, even if that means nothing more than a hallway handshake. But in the case of Robert Blanton, it's the recruiters showing off, although those acts are often limited to a quick hello outside the principal's office.

From a distance, Blanton has watched coaches from North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Georgia, Colorado and Notre Dame walk the halls of Butler High School this week. Keeping track of those coaches requires a program, but the 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back from Matthews, N.C., recognized Corwin Brown and Bill Lewis on Monday.
