Injury status: Dislocated his elbow last November against Western Michigan. Was fully recovered by the start of spring practice and his elbow is no longer an issue.

High School Accolades: Rated by Rivals.com as a five-star prospect the top all-purpose running back in the country and the No. 25 overall player in the nation. In addition to being the Palm Beach County Player of the Year, Smith earned the coveted "Mr. Football Award" given to the top prep player in Florida. At the 2004 Miami NIKE Camp was named the MVP and recorded a 40-time of 4.25 seconds. Smith played in the Cali-Florida Bowl and was named offensive MVP for the Florida Team. He led his Pahokee team to the state title and ran for 276 yards and three touchdowns in the championship game.
Notable: Since the end of the 2006 season, Smith has dropped his body fat from 13 to 8 percent.
