TCU among runningback's favorites
One of the most exciting runnin backs not only in the state of Texas but also the entire nation is Texarkana Liberty-Eylau all-purpose back LaMichael James. The talented runner has been a fixture on Liberty-Eylau's varsity for three years and helped lead his team to the class 3A state title in 2006 after amassing over 1,500 yards and 16 scores.
The fleet 5-foot-9, 180 pounder has several offers in the fold including TCU, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Minnesota, Tulsa, Arkansas, and Houston to name a few. James says currently three teams are standing out above the others.
"My top three are Nebraska, OSU, and Missouri," James said. "I like them the most because they give me the best opportunity to play my freshman year. That's the biggest factor I'm looking at, I want to play as early as I can. I also like Minnesota and TCU too, they're in the top five."
James was planning on attending a TCU camp on May 31st but was unable to make the trip. However, the Frogs are a team that he is keeping his eye on.
"I didn't get to go to make it to the camp," he said. "The reason I like TCU is because it's a private school, it provides a good education, and they run the ball a lot."
When it comes to camp visits or a commitment James says he will just take his time.
"On camps I will just do whatever comes up," he said. "As far as a commitment I was trying to do it before football season but I'm going to take some unofficial visits. I'm planning on trying to see everyone who's offered."
