Familiarity keeps Knox interested in Irish

There's still a lot for Milton Knox to learn about Notre Dame.

However, the four-star running back from Lake Balboa, Calif., already knows plenty about the type of football prospects targeted by the Irish program.

Knox played junior high football with quarterback Dayne Crist and battled the Irish commitment's Notre Dame High School squad last season. Birmingham fell 31-12, but Knox rushed for more than 200 yards in the game.

Off the field Knox knows plenty about Crist, but on the field he's probably better acquainted with linebacker Anthony McDonald, another Irish commitment from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks. It takes a lot for a running back that rushed for 2,374 yards and 29 touchdowns to compliment a linebacker, but Knox had no problem doing that for McDonald.
