Worthy of an offer?
The Buckeyes have had a lot of success in picking up players out of Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne high school through the years, most recently with defensive back Donnie Evege and before him with linebacker Marcus Freeman. Defensive tackle prospect Jerel Worthy would love to continue the pipeline and make the 65 mile trip to Columbus for the class of 2008. The 6-foot-2, 284-pounder has already picked up offers from seven schools but has his sights set on an Ohio State offer. For now the big man is just working out and trying to improve his strength and conditioning.
Worthy is still in contact with the Buckeyes and hoping for that elusive offer. He hears from the coaching staff pretty regularly and knows that the relationship between the Ohio State coaches and his coaches at Wayne will be to his benefit.
