Ohio DT Worthy of a Spartan offer

Michigan State had three different session of camp this summer. Numerous top prospects from states from all over the country stopped in to workout with the Spartan staff and see the University. One of the best performers observed was defensive tackle recruit Jerel Worthy of Huber Height Wayne High School in Ohio. We spoke with the 6-foot-2, 283-pound prospect last night.

Michigan State Head Coach Mark Dantonio is known for being one of the best defensive minds in the nation. One thing he understands is the importance of having physical defensive tackles that can disrupt the lien of scrimmage. Jerel Worthy is a prospect that he believes has the ability to do just that.

We asked worthy about his camp experience at Michigan State and his subsequent scholarship offer.

The Spartan offer brings Worthy's total to eight overall scholarship. In addition to Michigan State, schools such as Cincinnati, Nebraska, Marshall, Akron, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Ohio University have also extended him a scholarship.
