NU Notes: Paul showing great effort

Even with receiver being one of the deeper positions on the team, true freshman wide receiver Niles Paul is ready for whatever comes his way.

Paul, the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder from Omaha (Neb.) North is just one week into fall camp as a receiver at Nebraska and is soaking it all up. With several returning starters at Paul's position, many believed that with the in-state prospects ability, he could find his way on the field at some point during the year.

Head coach Bill Callahan said that while it may be too soon to make a general assessment, he mentioned that the effort the young pass-catcher has shown early on has been "outstanding."

"He's trying to digest as much of this information as possible," Callahan said. "He's a great kid with a super attitude. It's frustrating for any of these freshmen to come in here and learn all the routes, patterns, and conversions that you have to learn as a receiver. But I think his effort is outstanding and he has a want-to, desire and a passion for the game that I can feel as you're watching him play."
