Perry Patterson is gone now and the quarterback job has been left to Andrew Robinson. One thing that has not left is the little hope the quarterbacks will be using as they drop back to pass.
Quarterbacks coach Phil Earley talked about why he teaches the step to his players.
"I am not the only one who does it, but all it is on a certain drop we are trying to control the momentum by over stepping." Earley explained, "I think that Perry might have gotten a little higher than he really needed to. All it is is just trying to control the rhythm of going back on the drops."
Will Cody Catalina and David Legree learn the step as well?
"Yes they will, hopefully you will not see them go as high but you will still see it a little bit elongated."
