Season in Preview: Game ten

The 68-37 win by Hawaii in 2006 was arguably the most embarrassing loss during the Pat Hill era during his tenure at Fresno State and one the folks in the valley will not forget for quite some time. The Bulldogs will be looking for revenge on the island after surrendering 570 yards last season in their own house.

Hawaii scored early and often in 2006 as Colt Brennan racked up 409 yards passing and five touchdowns in three quarters of work. Adding more salt to the wounds was seeing backup quarterback Tyler Graunke come off the bench for one quarter and finish 5-for-5 with 61 yards passing and yet another touchdown for the Warriors. Those are haunting memories for Bulldog fans, which saw their secondary eviscerate in front of their very own eyes.

2007 marks a new season and hopefully one that won't see the Bulldogs surrender 68 points in any games, but if there is a place it could happen it is in Hawaii where the Warriors start the season as the favorites to win the WAC and ranked No. 24 by the USA Today. Hawaii has a few holes to fill on the offensive line but should score at will on opponents while the defense should be improved in 2007.

Colt Brennan heads into the season as one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and deservedly so. The numbers he put up last season were eye-popping and had little in common with the Timmy Chang era.
