Pickup games continue at McKale Center
Daily pickup games continued Wednesday as the team went hard for a full hour. Play was not as choppy as it was on Tuesday but different players stood out.Chase Budinger almost hit every shot that he took on Wednesday. Budinger also attacked the rim well and seems to be more confident and stronger when going to the basket. He was guarded for the most part by freshman Jamelle Horne, which was an interesting matchup because of the athletic ability from the two forwards. Experience would win the battle as Budinger connected on tough shots.
Here are some player evaluations and notes from Wednesday's pickup session:
Daniel Dillon was automatic from the outside as he hit a very high percentage of his shots. Dillon seemed to hit any open jumper that he took and hit some contested shots as well.
Like Dillon, Zane Johnson hit his shots again for the second day in a row. Johnson and Dillon did a good job of squaring up to the basket and showing good form. If Johnson continues to hit his shots with confidence, he will have a very important role on the Wildcats in the future.
