Notebook: Tide prepares for SEC play

After putting Game One behind them, the Crimson Tide wasted little time preparing for their SEC opener against Vanderbilt, a game which many believe will reveal significantly more about the state of the Alabama football program.

We were pleased to get the first game under our belt. We got a lot of kinks out," said head coach Nick Saban on Wednesday. "I was pleased with the way the players competed in the game and the physical toughness that they played with, trying to set a tempo and an attitude of how we want to play. Now the challenge is going to be can we do that on a consistent basis?"
