Buffs gearing up for the Baylor Bears

BOULDER, Colo. - Dan Hawkins admitted earlier this week that the Buffaloes' loss to Baylor in triple overtime last fall was one of the most painful losses he has endured as a head coach. Following the game, he spent the night in his office watching film.

A week after that loss to the Bears, the Buffs upset Texas Tech by 24 points.

"You know life isn't always going to be kind," Hawkins expressed. "You know my way of dealing with that is just to get back to working and getting back to getting better. Obviously there is a lot of emotion running through you and the only way to work that through is to work, start making notes and turning over more stones so that you can win ballgames."

Baylor head coach Guy Morriss is 2-0 against Colorado. The Bears also enjoyed a 42-30 victory over the Buffs in Waco in 2003.

"They spread you out," Hawkins said of Baylor. "They give you some problems that way because they have big running lanes and they're going to throw it around on you. I think they are a little bit like us where we came out of the Arizona State game where we dropped a lot of balls, and after looking at the film of [Baylor's game against Texas] A&M [last Saturday] they feel like they can improve their efficiency that way. So offensively they have to feel very capable.
