Little Breaks Down Decision To Attend KU
Shortly after returning home from an official visit to Illinois, Mario Little knew that it was only a matter of time before he committed to Kansas. However, before going public with his decision, the 6-foot-5, 210-pound small forward from Chipola Junior College in Marianna, FL., wanted to wait a couple of days before making it official. On Sunday afternoon, Jayhawk Slant broke the news that Little had become the second player from the class of 2008 to commit to the Jayhawks.
"All three (Kansas, Kansas State and Illinois) schools were great and that's what took me so long to decide," said Little. "I'm really excited about my decision to go to Kansas.
"I really like coach Bill Self, the coaching staff and the players," he added. "It'll be another chapter in my life."
Little's lifelong dream of playing Division I basketball became a reality on Sunday evening. However, it might have taken longer than expected to achieve that very goal.
During his freshman campaign at Chipola Junior College, Little averaged 10-points and six rebounds per game off the bench.
Little actually made a name for himself after putting together some impressive performances throughout the spring and summer. While several high-major programs showed a high amount of interest in the junior college prospect, Little ultimately decided to trim his list of schools to three.
