Williams, Lions stay focused on task at hand
Penn State has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season. Legal problems have made the news, but Penn State is also 1-2 in the Big Ten, a record not expected by many during the preseason.
Whether it is the mystery surrounding Austin Scott's exit, or rumors of more legal troubles, Penn State has had to keep tunnel vision in the hopes of continuing on the winning path.
"Everyone is just ready to move on and get ready for Wisconsin right now," Penn State junior wideout Derrick Williams said of the swirling rumors.
While there may have been a noticeable rise in the volume of Penn State football players' discretions, Williams said he did not feel Penn State's "squeaky clean" image has been tarnished by the recent events.
"I am pretty sure that the public knows that Penn State is made of great people and great men, and our coach is Coach Paterno and I think that says a lot about our program," Williams said. "If they knew anything about Penn State or do any research on Penn State they would know what we are really about and that there is a great program here."
