Tennessee verbal considering NC State

Defensive back J.T. Floyd from J.L. Mann High in Greenville, S.C., was a very early commitment to Tennessee. In fact he committed to the Vols in September of 2006, not long after his junior season had started. That commitment though is now soft, and NC State is one of the schools Floyd is considering. He took an unofficial visit to Raleigh for the Louisville game Sept. 29.

"I really liked it," Floyd told The Wolfpacker. "The facilities surprised me a little bit, they were great. The strength coaches impressed me with the way they do their flexibility thing."

Floyd, 6-foot-0, 180 pounds, is not a complete stranger to the NC State program. His uncle Mike Jones was a four-time letterwinner for the Pack from 1987-1990.
