Rod: Bulldogs 'Very Physical Team'

MORGANTOWN-Sylvester Croom took over as head coach at Mississippi State before the 2004 season.

Now, according to West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez, he's got his finest group of players yet.

"I'm very impressed with Mississippi State," said Rodriguez during Monday's BIG EAST teleconference. "They've already won four games, and they're the best team Coach Croom's had."

Rodriguez also noted the strength and aggressiveness of this Bulldog squad.

"They're a very physical team with very physical skill players," Rodriguez said. "Their defensive front is as good as we've seen. We expect a physical ballgame. They beat Auburn and took Tennessee down to the wire."

As for his own team, junior quarterback Pat White's health has improved during the off week.

"He practiced last night. He's not 100 percent; he didn't do everything. But he's running around fully. It helps that the injury was to his non-throwing shoulder," Rodriguez said. "Today's an off day, and we'll see how he progresses tomorrow."
