And Lee hopes to reverse the fortunes of the Florida State offense in the past few games against the Hurricanes. In the last three games against Miami, all season openers, neither team has scored more than 16 points.

"It's been totally a defensive game when it comes to us playing Miami," Lee said following Monday's practice. "It's always been 10-7 or something like that. If we execute like we're supposed to and keep putting points up on the board, we'll be all right."

Lee finished the game completing 24 of 45 passes for 283 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. But a second-half rough patch caused Bowden and Fisher to decide to put Drew Weatherford into the game. Weatherford, the starter for the season's first four games, lasted one series, enough, Fisher said, to let Lee get his bearings back.
