Newest Tiger talks about his decison
Raytown DE Aldon Smith committed to Missouri two weeks ago, after watching the Tigers beat Nebraska 41-6. Smith said the past two weeks have been very refreshing and relaxing.
Smith said that since committing, he has had a good time talking with one of his future coaches. Earlier conversations may have centered around specifics of recruiting, but since his decision, things have become a lot more light hearted.
The news was also exciting for Smith's future teammates. Smith said that one of the first people he told was Andrew Jones while at the game. Smith said that he was excited by what Jones had been doing for Missouri, and may do the same soon.
Smith said that the last few weeks have proven to everyone just some of the reasons that he chose Missouri. Even though the outcome hasn't been what he hoped, he has continued to see improvement out of the defense.
Smith said that he had his mind just about made up when he arrived in Columbia for the Tigers' last home game. After seeing what he saw, Smith knew he had made the right choice.
With recruiting out of the way, Smith said that he has been able to focus a lot harder on his senior season with Raytown. With district play starting up, Smith said that his upcoming game with Raytown's biggest rival was the biggest of the season.
For Smith, everything seems to be falling into place. He said that the last two weeks have been some of the most relaxing he has had in the recent past.
