Every year a number of talented high school football prospects stand out to certain college coaches, who thus recruit them. As Cal builds their 2007 recruiting class, one such senior player who stood extremely tall to the Golden Bear staff was Chandler (Ariz.) cornerback Marc Anthony. Nationally ranked as one of the Top 15 cornerback's in the country, the 4-Star standout is essentially Cal family.
It was obvious in meeting Anthony that he is very much looking forward to playing college football. Though he's won a state track championship, and broke the school record for interceptions, college football is unquestionably what is on his mind.
Perhaps that's because of his former teammate, close friend, and cousin Cameron Jordan, a true freshman at Cal that's pushed his way in to heavy playing time for the Bears. Jordan, who broke the Chandler high all-time sack record during his senior year, has been a huge bright spot for a defense that's needed someone to break through and give fans some hope for a consistent pass rushing threat.
