O'Neill wants more from Wildcats

The first exhibition game of the season and practices following have given interim head coach Kevin O'Neill an opportunity to take a closer look at Arizona's personnel.

Thus, O'Neill had plenty of thoughts about the win against Concordia, including opinions on what was perceived to be a lack of intensity from the team as a whole.

"Watching our game the other day, our intensity was definitely lacking," he said. "I thought we played well in spurts, so we want to make sure we get that up."

Offensively, O'Neill believes Arizona did a solid job. However, he admits that the Wildcats still have plenty to improve on.

"I thought offensively we did a good job," he said. "We only had seven turnovers and we had good looks. We only had five or six questionable shots, which is great. I am happy with some of the things but we have a ways to go obviously."

Although game performances will go a long way in determining the starting lineups, each player on Arizona will be evaluated every time they step on to the court, whether it is for a practice session or game.
