Beasley Breakdown vs. Sacramento State

Where were you? Well, was courtside Friday night to witness the single most-impressive performance by a Kansas State player since 1957. From the time Michael Beasley took the court at 5:55 p.m. until he disappeared into the locker room at 9:20 p.m., we tracked each historic step of the 6-foot-10, 245-pound freshman sensation during his record-setting debut at Bramlage Coliseum. Hang on. This is going to be quite a ride.

5:55 p.m.: Beasley emerges the tunnel for the first time in front of about 200 students nestled together in the student section. He's the final player on the court. He shoots around with teammates, yelling "Hey! Hey-hey-hey!" after he takes each shot. Note to ball boys: Get Beasley the ball.

6:55 p.m.: Kansas State is introduced in front of a crowd totaling 10,178, marking the largest crowd to witness a season opener since the grand opening of Bramlage Coliseum on Nov. 26, 1988. "And introducing your twenty-fifth ranked Wiiiildcatssss!" The crowd goes bananas.

7:05 p.m.: Beasley is the final player introduced in the starting lineup. Eyes wide and mouth wide open, he yells and thumps his chest while bouncing past the greeting line of teammates.

7:07 p.m.: Off to a good start: Beasley wins the opening tip.
