Sunday Teleconference: On to recruiting

In what seemed like a bat of an eye, the 2007 regular season is over for Oklahoma State.

After yesterday's 49-17 loss to Bedlam rival Oklahoma, the Cowboys end the campaign with a 6-6 record and a 4-4 Big 12 mark. Now OSU awaits what bowl destination they'll be traveling to - most likely either the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio or Insight Bowl in the Phoenix metro area.

In his weekly Sunday teleconference, head coach Mike Gundy talked several topics. One was the loss to the Sooners at Gaylord Stadium yesterday afternoon. While the Cowboys lost by 32 points, Gundy said the performance his squad gave wasn't an issue.

Their big guys up front just mashed us and they did what I would have done in their situation. They blocked down and kicked out and continued to do it and more pressure into the interior of our defense than other people did early in the game."

The Sooners racked up 487 yards in total offense against the outmanned Poke defense. And while many teams this season chose to attack a weak secondary, OU instead played smashmouth football and ran the ball early and often. They moved the ball at will on the ground, gaining 307 yards. Allen Patrick had a giant day, rushing for 202 of those yards.
