KU trounces FAU

When Rex Walters was introduced as the Florida Atlantic head coach Wednesday night in Allen Fieldhouse, it was a surreal moment as the former Kansas Jayhawk standout stood on the opposite side of the court where he lived through so many great memories. Once that introduction was complete, the reality of who his Owls (1-6, 0-0) were playing set in. Not even a heart-warming welcome could override the pounding No. 4 Kansas handed out, taking the win, 87-49. Brandon Rush scored 17 points for the second straight game despite an apparent twinge in his back late in the first half. The Jayhawks (6-0, 0-0) are off to their best start in three years as they head to Southern California to take on USC on Sunday.

It's never easy to play in Lawrence, Kan. It doesn't get any easier for an opposing coach who once played on the very court he was about to coach on.
