Montana player of the year headed to Iowa

The Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Montana is headed to Iowa, as offensive lineman Casey McMillan gave his commitment to the Hawkeyes today. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound McMillan, who attends Billings Central Catholic, made his decision during his official visit to Iowa City this weekend.

McMillan's host on the official visit was offensive lineman Travis Meade. The Montana prep, who earned first team all-state honors each of the past two seasons, enjoyed the chance to get to know the players and coaches at Iowa.

One highlight of the visit for McMillan, who is currently in the middle of his high school hoops season, was getting the chance to watch the Hawkeyes play Penn State in basketball on Saturday.

In committing to Iowa, McMillan chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Colorado State and Wyoming, along with Montana and Montana State. The two-star prospect was glad to finally wrap things up with just a little over week until signing day.
