Is four-star considering options?
Rivals100 outside linebacker Marcus Robinson is a big piece of Miami's highly-ranked 2008 recruiting class. The athletic backer has been committed to the Hurricanes since July but come Signing Day, there is no guarantee that he'll be wearing a Miami hat.
On Thursday, Bobby Bowden made it clear that Florida State is still very interested in swinging the highly-touted prospect by making a personal visit.
"[Bobby Bowden] stopped by today," Robinson said. "It went well. He talked about the opportunity I have if I come up there because a lot of people gotta sit out because of the incident last year. I thought about it. It sounds good."
With the opportunities that Coach Bowden is presenting Robinson, he made it clear that he is keeping the Seminoles in consideration leading up to Wednesday's announcement.
Who else is joining Miami and Florida State in the final four?
"Florida State, USC, LSU and Miami," he said. "I'm leaning towards Miami."
Despite the soft verbal commitment and the slight lead by Miami in the race for his services, Robinson mentioned that he still has a lot to think over through the next few days. Robinson outlined which factors he would mulling over the most.
"Basically how I got along with the players," he said. "That and the academics are really important to me."
Robinson had the opportunity to officially visit all of the schools on his final list so he has had an opportunity to see how he relates to each team and each campus. He listed how each visit ranks.
"I would say the Miami visit went the best," he said. "After that it would go USC, LSU and then Florida State."
Robinson is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 4 outside linebacker in the country and the No. 65 player overall.
