Frogs target Colorado star

With 10 commitments already in the fold for the class of 2009, the Frogs are going toe to toe with any and all comers at this point and time. Considering the talent riches that TCU has at it's fingertips in the state of Texas, you might be inclined to think that the Frogs are happy staying in state to pull in all of their commitments.

While it's true that Texas high school prospects will always be TCU's bread and butter, a player comes along from time to time from another state that makes you think outside the box. Kendall Gregory-McGhee is just that type of player. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound athlete has garnered early interest from around the country and now it looks as if TCU has officially offered the big man.

With offers now on the table from schools such as Colorado, Colorado St.,TCU, Minnesota, Boise St., Wyoming and UNLV, it's clear that Gregory-McGhee has options. PurpleMenace.Com caught up with Kendall Friday night to get his thoughts on his budding stardom. So what are his thoughts on the recruiting process in general?

"It's going pretty good right now, I'm up to 7 offers now but I'm just taking my time and looking at all of the schools that have offered me."

With TCU now in the mix with an offer on the table, what was about TCU that made Kendall list them as a school of interest to begin with?

"Well, I have family in Texas so that's one thing, the other reason that I have interest in them is because my old football coach lives down there in Dallas."

While he admits not knowing a lot about the Frog program, Kendall says that he would like to get to know them better.

"I talk to Coach Williamson when I get in contact with the staff, I would like to learn more about TCU and I plan on visiting them for an official visit sometime in the near future."

When talking to the young man it becomes abundantly clear that he has his head screwed on straight. He seems well versed in the interview process and comes across as a genuine, straight forward kid. It came as no surprise then that the answer to the question, "What are you looking for in a school?" came so effortlessly.

"Academics first. I want a school that has a good academic program and a school that has high graduation rates for it's players. I want to major in either business or education, that's the main thing I'm looking for."

While Gregory-McGhee is listed as an athlete, there are a couple of positions that a 6-4 prospect with 4.6 speed could excel in. So what exactly are the coaches telling him about how he'll likely be used?

"Most of them are saying TE or DE, that's what most of them are telling me right now. we'll see how it goes."

With no timetable in place for a decision, it looks like Gregory-McGhee will take a few visits first before he makes his choice. One thing is for sure, TCU is in the mix and the Horned Frogs will likely receive one of Kendall's coveted official visits.
