Cotton getting early start on spread offense

He was expected to be the best quarterback at Auburn's first senior camp last weekend, and Fort Meade (Md.) High's Raymond Cotton didn't disappoint.

Cotton, formerly of Faith Academy in Mobile, Ala., was the clear standout at the quarterback position, and arguably of the entire camp.

The 6-foot-4, 216-pounder showed off his arm strength, accuracy and touch in various drills while under the direction of Auburn quarterback coach and offensive coordinator Tony Franklin. Cotton was especially impressive Sunday during the 1-on-1s, which pitted the receivers against defensive backs. Cotton connected on the majority of his throws and did so with authority on most.
