Top ten Tigers: Number seven

Fall camp is now just seven days away. Over the next week, leading up to the day of the first practice, PowerMizzou.com will count down the ten most important Tigers for the 2008 season. The list was made up with a look at past performance, expected impact during the 2008 season and depth at any given position. Today, we continue the countdown.

7. Chase Coffman

Why he's on the list: With an all-American out of the mix, most teams would expect a dropoff. The Tigers shouldn't see one at tight end. Coffman has a shot at single season and career records in all kinds of categories in 2008. Last year, Rucker caught 84 passes. If Coffman adds half of those to his 2007 total, he will shatter the single-season record for receptions at Mizzou. In the past couple of seasons, Coffman and Rucker have each been on the field for about two-thirds of Missouri's snaps. That number should rise significantly for Coffman this season. He will be a focal point and it would not be a shock to see him threaten 100 receptions.
